Why track your AI spend?
AI coding tools are usage-billed and the meter runs fast. A single agent run can read your whole repo, retry, and burn hundreds of thousands of tokens before you notice. Most developers have no idea what a given session actually cost until the invoice arrives.
adonterminal puts that number in front of you while you work. When your agent is busy, a small prompt offers to open your dashboard — you click it, see your running spend, and learn where the tokens are going. Over a week you start to recognise the expensive patterns and trim them.
How it works
- Claude Code — adonterminal enables Claude Code's official OpenTelemetry export to a local collector, capturing exact token and cost figures.
- Cursor — the collector reads Cursor's own local session database to detect AI activity and estimate token usage (Cursor doesn't expose exact counts to third parties).
- Dashboard — your numbers roll up here, in your browser, where you can review trends and read cost-saving tips.
